Jessica Waldron -Lead Teacher

Jessica has a BA from California State University Bakersfield.  She also has two Teaching Credentials - an English-Single Subject Teaching Credential, and a Multiple Subjects Teaching Credential – from the Credentialing program at CSU Bakersfield.  Jessica has a great deal of knowledge and experience, which she brings to The Preschool at St. Victor.  She was a preschool teacher for the Sulpher Springs District State Preschool Program.  This academic PreK setting required formal and informal assessments designed and given for Desired Results Developmental Profiles as required by the State of California.  She also has experience teaching at the Kindergarten, 1st Grade and 2nd Grade levels.  This gives her insight into the expectations of students in these early elementary grades, and she can in turn design her curriculum to strive to meet these expectations.  As if this weren’t enough, Jessica is also Crosscultural Language and Academic Development (CLAD) trained, Guided Language Acquisition Development (GLAD) trained, and Envision (math program) trained.   She is dedicated to providing a quality program in order to make a positive impact in the lives of children.  Her enthusiasm is as impressive as her background, and we are most excited to have Jessica as our lead teacher here at The Preschool at St. Victor.

Julie Zaring – Teacher

Julie took her Early Childhood Education courses at Long Beach City  and Los Angeles City Colleges.  She has over ten years experience teaching in a preschool setting.  Julie is an enthusistic, caring educator who believes that all children can learn and thrive in an environment that is stimulating, comforting, and appropriate to children’s abilities.  She is commited to collaborating with her colleagues, supervisors, and parents, so as to maintain a “partnership” environment.  With her calming presence and outstanding communication skills, she has an exceptional ability to establish instant rapport with students and parents.  Don’t let her seemingly quiet manner fool you, though – she definitely has spunk!   She’s also speaks fluent Tagalog – which has come in very handy here.  Julie is an asset to any program, we’re glad she’s with ours.

Stephanie Alvarez – Teacher

Stephanie has a Child Development/Early Childhood Assistant Certificate from Harbor Occupational Center in San Pedro.  She continued her education in Child Development at Los Angeles Harbor College.  Since graduating from high school in 2002, Stephanie has volunteered and worked in the field.  And quite frankly, she has done it all!   She has spent a great deal of time working for Volunteers of America Early Head Start Program both in the classroom and in the field, helping to foster families in the belief that parents are the child’s first teacher.   Her work with this organization is most commendable.  Stephanie is bilingual (Spanish/English), and will be working to conduct our after school program entirely Spanish.  Stephanie has a long list of completed trainings, which include music, discipline, specail needs, and the Creative Curriculum, to name just a few.  Moreover, underneath it all, she has a terrific sense of humor and fun!  The Preschool at St. Victor greatly values Stephanie’s contribution.
